Centre Island
June 1, 2008 - 12.27Leomir and I went to Centre Island after visiting the Hockey Hall of Fame. Centre Island is a part of the Toronto Islands which reside in Lake Ontario.
While walking from Hockey Hall of Fame to the ferry terminal, we see the CN Tower.
And this wedge like building. Leomir tells me there’s a similar building in New York called the Flatiron Building.
Air Canada Centre where nothing is happening because the Leafs and Raptors sucks.
Entrance to the ferry terminal.
Inside the terminal waiting for the boat.
Boarding!
Quite a beautiful scenery from the ferry ride. It would be nicer if it was sunny.
Packs of life jackets hanging above our heads.
Winnie the Pooh stickers on the garbage can.
View of Centre Island from the ferry.
Docking.
Welcome!
Map of the Toronto Island. Notice the three ferry lines? We walked from the middle dock to the one on the left.
Random canon.
There’re a lot of these statues throughout the island, standing on the empty lawns.
Willow tree.
A pathway of flags.
You don’t see this sign very often.
Lots of various plantations.
We were there on a May Tuesday. Nothing is open.
A cafe.
Some bridge.
An interesting looking bird.
From afar, I thought this was a swan. It turns out to be just a duck.
Singing? Or yelling at me?
The farm.
Black and white chicken-looking creatures.
Lots of birds and bird poop.
Donkey.
Some very old horses. I think they are retired RCMP horses.
I like how the donkey pan says horses may bite but the horse one says animal.
They look kind of depressing, don’t they?
Ducks everywhere!
Ponies, I think?
Goats. One of them pooped in front of us.
Sharping their horns.
The goats were a lot more active than the horses.
Charging!
A close-up.
It looks so deserted here. Nothing was open since it’s not really tourist season yet.
Weird farm name.
I wonder if they give tours on this when there’s actually people here.
Cleanest sheep of the bunch.
This reminds me of the chickens we had to kill in the game Conquer, where I mined all day to try to build a house.
Not sure what this is.
Scenic pictures.
We didn’t go to the clothing optional beach.
Swan!
FAIL! I didn’t get what these were for. It looks out to the lake which is just endless view of water.
The sign on the pole says free which is another perplexing thing.
An old church.
Bridge that leads to some yacht club.
View of the lake.
Swan swimming..
Swan landing…
People actually live on this tiny island.
We decided to leave from the dock of Ward Island.
On the way to the dock..
We found this playground. We climbed these bars for a bit and end up missing the ferry. Go us.
Toronto skyline.
The ferry we missed.
More shots of the Toronto skyline while we wait for the ferry.
One last shot of the island.
A very dirty coastline.
A 45minute wait = lots of pictures of Toronto downtown.
Area by the dock.
On the way back to Leomir’s place, we pass by this building that was under construction but was wrap with picture of how the building looked or would look.
Old building.
There are many of these poles along Yonge street. I never seen them before. New?
A view of downtown.
Cute Cadbury billboard.
More billboards but that’s nothing compare to what I will see in New York.
Side walk drawings. The guy was drawing stuff when we pass by in the afternoon many hours ago. He still haven’t finish (the picture to the left of the wishing well).
