Halloween Horror

November 2, 2007 - 15.56

Well not really… hehe. It was my sister’s day off so we headed to the mall for some shopping. I had a couple things I wanted to pick up. Unfortunately, it coincided with Halloween. We arrived at the mall around 3pm, when there were several costume wearing kids scattered here and there. However as time goes by, more and more kids popped up. As a lot of people I’ve talked to didn’t know, the stores at the mall do actually hand out candies. The kids are at the mall trick or treating, which is a rather good alternative to going door to door. It’s safer, warmer and more consolidated. While there are the odd stores every now and then that posted the “No Candies Here” sign, a majority of them are participating in the annual event. In addition, there are the mall haunted mansion and face painting that the kids can enjoy apart from collecting goodies. But for the casual shopper like my sister and myself, shopping just got a little bit harder with kids running around, many of whom blocked doorways as they are lining up for a chocolate bar. While I can’t say I was angry at them since some of them are dressed up rather cutely, it was just a tad bit inconvenient.

Some pictures to show the kids (and camera / camcorder holding parents) density at the mall:
