Progress on Japanese…
August 18, 2007 - 23.58…has been slow. I’ve kind of learn 15 hiragana characters. At first I practiced writing the characters and tried to remember their pronunciations. Then I started to write the characters from memory but there was a problem with it. I was merely remembering the characters in the order I learn it from and not really linking the characters to its romanji (English ‘words’). So I wrote a little script in PHP that will print out the list of characters in romaji in random order each time the page is refreshed. Now I got 15 characters memorized fairly well with the exception of mixing up ‘o’ sometimes. Now I still got 31 characters left before I can look at katakana.
