Whitespot Fries
July 31, 2007 - 14.02Today, I went to Whitespot for lunch after picking up a package at Purlator. Flipping through the menu and not noticing any dish that particularly interested me, I ordered a rather generic chicken caeser wrap. When the food came, the wrap was served with an unexpected side dish of fries and coleslaw. The surprise was mainly due to my ignorance towards little details written around the menu about side dishes. Although once a fan of them, I no longer enjoy taking a bite of the oily cooked potatoes. But having the philosophy of not wasting food (which is slow diminishing by the way), I put one in my mouth. My first thought was is this really fries? Quickly looked at my dish again. It certainly looked like it but the taste was a whole world away from what would be expected of. To put it vaguely, it tasted like a burnt piece of crap that was left out in the cold so it had gone soggy. With that being said, another restaurant is added to my ‘restaurant I do not go to voluntarily’ list, which had a massive growth rate lately.
